Job Opportunity: Program Associate
Position
Overview:
We are
seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Person as Program Associate to join
our team for the "Skool n Skill 4 Naija" project, aimed at
integrating digital skills education and drug abuse prevention into the Nigeria
Secondary Education Curriculum. The Program Associate will play a crucial role
in coordinating and implementing various activities across different work
packages of the project.
Roles and
Responsibilities:
·
Assist in the coordination and
implementation of preparatory activities, including rapid assessment studies
and training of trainers.
·
Support the organization of focus
group discussions with teachers, CSOs, and activists to gather insights for
program development.
·
Collaborate with technical units to
develop didactical tools and proposals for drug abuse prevention and digital
skills education.
·
Facilitate advocacy meetings and
policy dialogues with key educational stakeholders to institutionalize program
components.
·
Coordinate state-level round-table
discussions and policy dialogues for curriculum development and implementation.
·
Oversee the selection and training
of pilot groups of digital catalysts and educators for program implementation.
·
Contribute to the development of
multimedia components and digital tools for educational purposes.
·
Participate in capacity-building
sessions and workshops for teachers, educators, and CSOs on drug abuse
prevention and digital skills education.
·
Support the establishment and
functioning of digital skills education corners in secondary schools.
·
Assist in the organization of
youth-led activities, such as role-play sessions, unity walks, and digital
expos, to promote awareness and prevention of drug abuse.
·
Collaborate with stakeholders to
create a nationwide network for inclusive education and youth empowerment, and
any other functions that may be assigned.
Minimum
Qualifications:
o
Bachelor's degree in any
discipline.
o
At least 2 years of experience in
similar projects/ non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
o
Strong understanding of education
systems, youth development, and social issues, particularly related to digital
skills & drug abuse prevention.
o
Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills.
o
Proven ability to work effectively
in multicultural settings and with diverse stakeholders.
o
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
suite and digital tools for program management and communication.
o
Ability to work independently,
prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
o
Commitment to promoting
transparency, accountability, and good governance.
Preferred
Qualifications:
§
Experience in curriculum
development or educational program management.
§
Knowledge of Nigerian secondary
education curriculum and policies.
§
Familiarity with digital skills
training and technology-based educational tools.
§
Experience in organizing advocacy
campaigns and public awareness events.
