At Speak Out Africa Initiative, we are driving nutrition equity through targeted, community-powered interventions across Nigeria. Our work is not just advocacy it’s action that touches lives daily. Here’s how:
✨ NourishNaija – In 2024, we launched NourishNaija, a national advocacy and outreach campaign targeting malnutrition at the grassroots. So far, we've reached over 5,000 households across Abuja, Niger, and Nasarawa States, providing practical nutrition education and promoting homegrown solutions using local food items.
✨ FeedSmart Schools Project – We’re working inside schools not just in theory, but in action. Over 15 public schools in FCT and Kogi State have been engaged in our FeedSmart Schools Project, strengthening school feeding systems, educating over 3,200 students and 180 teachers on the importance of nutritious meals, and supporting meal monitoring mechanisms. Because children can't learn well on an empty stomach.
✨ Rural Mothers’ Nutrition Circles – From Rural Gwagwalada to Lokoja, our Rural Mothers’ Circles are empowering over 1,000 women with practical knowledge on child nutrition, hygiene, and food preparation. These peer-support groups are helping caregivers rethink child feeding using affordable, locally available food.
