Achievements

Speak Out Africa Initiative (SOAI) actively participated in the monitoring, observation, and reporting of the 223 general elections in Nigeria. It deployed over 1,235 election observers across the 36 states of Nigeria, including the FCT, and constituted an Elections Radar Situation Room to analyze the political and security aspects of the electoral process for the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections. This is part of our efforts towards enhancing credibility, transparency, and public confidence in the electoral processes in Nigeria. The result of the first-hand observations of our foot soldiers at the polling units and experienced political analysts in our Situation Room was collated as a report with recommendations for appropriate authorities.

This mission falls within the Democracy and Good Governance (DGG) thematic area as part of our efforts to enhance good governance and political participation in Nigeria. We constituted an Elections Radar Situation Room to monitor and observe the presidential and National Assembly elections in a bid to increase the legitimacy and transparency of electoral processes.

Our main objective is the independent, impartial, and objective evaluation of the ballot. We deployed 1,235 election observers across the 36 states of Nigeria, including the FCT, and constituted an Elections Radar situation room to analyze the political, electoral, security, and media aspects of the entire electoral process. The result of the first-hand observations of our foot soldiers at the polling units and experienced political analysts in our situation room is what informs this report.

Our Team

The key to our success is our team. Even though each of our workers is exceptional in their own way, it is their combined efforts that make SOAI such a rewarding and enjoyable place to work.
