{"id":1890,"date":"2025-07-11T15:53:02","date_gmt":"2025-07-11T15:53:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/speakoutafricainitiative.org\/?p=1890"},"modified":"2025-07-11T16:33:48","modified_gmt":"2025-07-11T16:33:48","slug":"loginaija-1-0-comes-to-a-landmark-close-from-policy-to-people","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/speakoutafricainitiative.org\/index.php\/2025\/07\/11\/loginaija-1-0-comes-to-a-landmark-close-from-policy-to-people\/","title":{"rendered":"LOGINaija 1.0 Comes to a Landmark Close: From Policy to People"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"en-NG\"><span style=\"color:#0066cc;\">LOGINaija 1.0 Comes to a Landmark Close: From Policy to People<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<span style=\"background-color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\"><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><font color=\"#000000\">The Speak Out Africa Initiative, with support from MacArthur Foundation and Community Life Project (CLP) Nigeria, officially concluded its pioneering LOGINaija Project at a high-level Close-Out and Report Sharing Ceremony in Abuja.\n<br>\nThe event brought together stakeholders from across the country to celebrate the achievements of the LOGINaija initiative a project designed to deepen transparency, accountability, and citizen participation at Nigeria\u2019s local government level.<br><\/font><\/p><\/span>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>#SpeakOutAfricaInitiative #Transparency #OpenGovernance #CommunityEmpowerment #LOGINaija<\/em><span><\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<\/p>\n\n<span style=\"background-color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\"><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><font color=\"#000000\"><\/font><\/p><h3 data-start=\"827\" data-end=\"873\"><strong data-start=\"831\" data-end=\"873\"><\/strong><\/h3><span style=\"color:#000000;\"><h3 data-start=\"827\" data-end=\"873\"><strong data-start=\"831\" data-end=\"873\">A Vision Transformed Into Local Impact<\/strong><\/h3><p data-start=\"875\" data-end=\"1092\">LOGINaija (Local Open Governance Initiative in Nigeria) was conceived to bridge the gap between citizens and their local governments through digital platforms, civic engagement, and participatory governance practices.<\/p><p data-start=\"1094\" data-end=\"1189\">Over the course of its implementation, LOGINaija worked with <strong data-start=\"1155\" data-end=\"1188\">three pilot local governments<\/strong>:<\/p><ul data-start=\"1190\" data-end=\"1302\">\n<li data-start=\"1190\" data-end=\"1225\">\n<p data-start=\"1192\" data-end=\"1225\"><strong data-start=\"1192\" data-end=\"1225\">Gwagwalada Area Council (FCT)<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1226\" data-end=\"1262\">\n<p data-start=\"1228\" data-end=\"1262\"><strong data-start=\"1228\" data-end=\"1262\">Umuahia North LGA (Abia State)<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1263\" data-end=\"1302\">\n<p data-start=\"1265\" data-end=\"1302\"><strong data-start=\"1265\" data-end=\"1302\">Ibadan South-West LGA (Oyo State)<\/strong><\/p><\/li>\n<\/ul><div><b><br><\/b><\/div><p data-start=\"1304\" data-end=\"1468\">Each council signed a <strong data-start=\"1326\" data-end=\"1363\">Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)<\/strong> signifying their commitment to sustaining open governance practices well beyond the project\u2019s lifecycle.<\/p><\/span><p data-start=\"1304\" data-end=\"1468\"><\/p><\/span>\n<span style=\"background-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\"><hr data-start=\"1470\" data-end=\"1473\"><h3 data-start=\"1475\" data-end=\"1513\"><strong data-start=\"1479\" data-end=\"1513\">Achievements Worth Celebrating<\/strong><\/h3><p data-start=\"1515\" data-end=\"1698\"><strong data-start=\"1515\" data-end=\"1557\">1. Local Government Websites Launched:<\/strong><br data-start=\"1557\" data-end=\"1560\">\nEach pilot LGA now has a fully functional official website with real-time access to council projects, budgets, and citizen feedback tools.<\/p><p data-start=\"1700\" data-end=\"1911\"><strong data-start=\"1700\" data-end=\"1725\">2. Capacity Building:<\/strong><br data-start=\"1725\" data-end=\"1728\">\nTraining sessions reached dozens of council staff, CSOs, and local officials, enhancing their skills in participatory budgeting, transparency tools, and inclusive planning frameworks.<\/p><p data-start=\"1913\" data-end=\"2078\"><strong data-start=\"1913\" data-end=\"1940\">3. Community Inclusion:<\/strong><br data-start=\"1940\" data-end=\"1943\">\nThe project facilitated local dialogues, market outreach, and youth engagement sessions, ensuring real voices were part of the process.<\/p><p data-start=\"2080\" data-end=\"2252\"><strong data-start=\"2080\" data-end=\"2110\">4. Systems Transformation:<\/strong><br data-start=\"2110\" data-end=\"2113\">\nBy digitizing governance and increasing public participation, LOGINaija laid the foundation for replicable models of open local government.<\/p><\/span>\n<span style=\"background-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\"><hr data-start=\"2254\" data-end=\"2257\"><h3 data-start=\"2259\" data-end=\"2304\"><strong data-start=\"2263\" data-end=\"2304\">A Resounding Close, A Call to Sustain<\/strong><\/h3><p data-start=\"2306\" data-end=\"2539\">The Close-Out Ceremony served as both a reflection and a launchpad. Panel discussions, testimonial videos, and the premiere of the official <strong data-start=\"2446\" data-end=\"2471\">LOGINaija Documentary<\/strong> highlighted the stories of change already unfolding in communities.<\/p><p data-start=\"2541\" data-end=\"2616\">In his remarks, SOAI\u2019s Executive Director <strong data-start=\"2583\" data-end=\"2604\">Engr. Kenneth Eze<\/strong> emphasized:<\/p><blockquote data-start=\"2617\" data-end=\"2800\">\n<p data-start=\"2619\" data-end=\"2800\"><em data-start=\"2619\" data-end=\"2800\">\u201cLOGINaija is not just a project, it\u2019s a movement. The real work is what happens after today, as we continue to support local governments in embracing openness, one LGA at a time.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><\/span>\n<span style=\"background-color:
