In a heartfelt commitment to the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, our Civic Participation and Advocacy team at Speak Out Africa Initiative embarked on a transformative journey. On November 28, 2023, we visited LEA Primary School, Wuse Zone 3, immersing ourselves in educating and sensitizing children, women, and girls about the grave dangers of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). The message echoed loud and clear: say NO to this harmful practice.
Our outreach extended to the inspiring NYSC corps members, empowering them to become catalysts for change in the fight against FGM. The emphasis was on raising awareness and instilling a resolute commitment to end FGM in our society.
To fortify our educational efforts, we've provided a downloadable resource titled Understanding The Dangers Of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)," tailored for primary and junior secondary schools.
This post encapsulates the spirit of our impactful awareness campaigns at LEA Primary School, Daki Biyu, Jabi, and LEA Model Primary School, Maitama, during the #16DaysofActivism. It underscores our unwavering commitment at Speak Out Africa Initiative, extending far beyond the designated campaign period.
